Ink and Toner for Dummies
If you’re like me, then you’re wishing that there was one of those yellow and black books stashed in the How-To section of the bookstore title “Ink and Toner for Dummies”. Especially with the prices these days you want to feel like you know what you’re spending your money on. I personally have gone through several ink/toner guzzling devices in the last few years (printers, copiers, scanners, at home, in the office, etc…) and each of them required a unique ink or toner. I have no idea what the number on the cartridge means, so I’m forced to go to the store and search for the matching box to the original cartridge. I can’t help but think that, if I knew anything about ink or toner that I could be getting a better deal.
Similarly to buying the generic brand of a pharmaceutical, it seems like there must be a cheaper version of the ink I need for my personal printer. So, I set out to get informed. I started reading blogs about printing and office supplies and I also read reviews of different brands in the industry. What I found is that there are even more brands, styles, variations, fashions, choices, options, alternatives, yaddah, yaddah, yaddah that I ever thought. There are tons of options out there and plenty of online resources to buy discounted toner or ink cartridges. No need to go into [fill in name of big box store here] and spend hours scanning the ink cartridge aisle trying to find a match. Bottom line, a little research will go a long way in finding a great deal.
